Learning Support

The Alpha School is an inclusive school where each child is valued as an individual and is encouraged to reach their full potential.

Our Learning Support Team welcome children who have additional learning needs and develop individual plans to suit their requirements. For some, this will be a short-term plan to overcome a particular barrier, whilst for others there may be the need for ongoing support.

Where children are identified, or have been assessed, as having an additional need, our team will work with the child, their parents and any outside agencies involved to develop an individual education plan (IEP). Wherever possible, we will support children to achieve within the classroom.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

As an international school, we understand that some of our children will speak little or no English when they join us. At The Alpha School, we celebrate this diversity, ensuring that, with support from our trained EAL team, all of our children will be able to access fully our curriculum, which is taught in English.

Gifted and Talented (G&T)

G&T students are equally valued at The Alpha School, integrating ‘stretch and challenge’ strategies in the students’ learning experience. We apply active learning approaches that engage, challenge and inspire learners, combined with innovative use of digital technology in the classroom to extend the students, knowledge, skills and understanding. Inclusion is paramount.
